Bull Temple is popular by the name Dodda Basavana Gudi, where Dodda means Big in Kannada.This temple was built by the King Kempe Gowda in 1537 AD. Temple architecture reflects Dravidian style. Nandi vehicle for Lord Siva is of 4.5 mt in height and 6.5 mt in length.
As per the Legend, Bull used to graze on the groundnut fields daily. One day farmer saw the bull grazing on the fields and hit the bull. The bull then turned into the statue. The bull statue started growing large, to stop growing a trident was placed on the head. Farmer used to offer their first ground nuts crop every year and this festival called by the name Kadalekai Parishe. Kadalekai Parishe festival will be celebrated on first Monday and Tuesday in Karthika Masam,
